This week, Oddly Studios were fortunate enough to host the Seneca-sponsored industry meet ‘n greet at our 555 Richmond location.
The event was planned to bring together students still in digital media programs with top-notch industry professionals for a chance to talk about current trends in interactive media, from advertising to entertainment.
The studio provided a good setting for a casual atmosphere. Many thanks go to event-planner extrordinaire Allison Sullovey, and Tracy Rogers, Career Services Coordinator at Seneca. They along with others were instrumental in putting together an event that was both fun and informative.
All in all, the evening was a smashing success with everyone having a good time, and many animated conversations lighting up among the industry pros and the bright minds of such programs as Seneca’s Digital Media Arts, Creative Advertising, and U of T’s CCIT.
On a personal note, I was very happy to see a fine showing of my own students from the Digital Media Arts program eagerly approaching my industry friends to make use of their years of experience. I’ve always noted how something magical happens when you put industry veterans in the same room with young talent – both get something they need from it. I went back to work the next day feeling recharged.
