THE WORK/

Boost Agents

Dev + Video

We at Oddly are very proud to be the media sponsors for Boost Agents, the finest talent recruitment agency in Canada. As part of our role, we consult regularly on technical matters, along with producing full-service interactive work, including a beautiful website, video and motion graphics work.

Website Production
The website is the core selling piece for the Boost Agents service, and as such is full of useful information for both those seeking to improve their careers and top businesses looking to hire talent. When Trina, CEO of the agency, approached us, a flood of creative ideas came forth. We helped guide her through the process of creating the site, planning ahead to video integration and helping work out the details of the user experience. Trina had a designer she wanted to work with, and though they were located on another continent, we set up a workflow and communication that allowed us to run the key elements through that designer. With a look and feel established, our in-house team took on the task of fleshing that look out to the rest of the site, and furthermore integrating it into the video work we would do.

Part of the challenge in building the Boost site was determining a solution for handling all the job applications that would occur.  Oddly investigated several possibilities before recommending the Bullhorn API. We were aware of it from previous work, and got hold of their technical team to ask a lot of questions on behalf of our client. Once satisfied that their service could meet our needs, we set about creating custom code extensions to the CMS we were using for the purpose of offloading a lot of work from our client to the Bullhorn service.

Media Production

While the site build was going on, our video teams were very occupied as well. Boost Agents offer a unique video job posting service, and Oddly was called upon to shoot, stylize, and optimize the video. We sent people on location to scout and determine the technical requirements for the setup, establishing shot locations, sound needs, and everything else that would allow us to get a successful shoot.

In addition to the video job description, Oddly would handle the gala launch of the website and announcement to the industry of the new service, to happen in conjunction with AdLounge’s “Next Gen Dinner Series”. For this event as well, Oddly would be on-hand handling video, including both coverage and interview footage.

At the event, our on-location crew stood by, awaiting the moment for the site to go live. The moment it did, the mobile version was brought up on-site and announcements made to the delight of many  influential industry leaders. Reaction shots were captured for inclusion in the video reel.

In addition to media coverage, Oddly handles motion graphics and visual effects for both Boost Agents and AdLounge, a very good mix when combined with our serious development skills. This kind of full-service collaboration is just the kind of thing we love to handle at Oddly.
