THE WORK/

Medium

Creative + Video

Medium is the name for Canada’s first truly interactive fashion magazine for tablet, and the team at Oddly Studios are very pleased to be the producers for this outstanding publication.

Feels Like Magic

Medium pushes interactivity for magazines into entirely new directions on the iPad. While publications for tablet exist, publishers have noted that it is not enough to take a print magazine and put it on the iPad. This is obvious to anyone who observes the iPad being used by a first-timer. They expect to swipe, tap, pinch, and see things moving around.

The challenge then becomes how to create a high level of interactive content during the monthly production cycles for a magazine?

Doing It All Up

Thanks to the in-house capabilities at Oddly, all aspects of the production could be handled in record time, including copy writing, videography, motion graphics, layout and typography, graphic design and photography.

The creative teams work hand in hand with the development teams who create all the code that enables such rich interactivity. Our developers love to work in new technologies and jumped on the chance to create something for Apple’s exciting new tablet device.

All the efforts of the creative and development teams are made possible because of an admin group that is second to none in the industry. They are the ones making sure that everything stays on schedule during the month. It is they who handle the myriad decisions that must be made – everything from who will cater a photo shoot to making sure the model release forms are signed. We really couldn’t do it without them!
